βοΈ Exempt Categories (Rule 3(1))
π Emergency / Rescue duties: Persons employed to save life or property, or deal with accidents β owner/agent/manager must notify the Chief Inspector immediately. π¨
π·ββοΈ Supervisory & managerial posts: Manager, under-manager, underground manager, assistant manager, ventilation officer, safety officer; mining/electrical/mechanical engineers; overman, foreman, sirdar, mate; mechanical/electrical foreman and electrical supervisor; surveyor & assistant surveyor; medical officer, chemist, assayer, metallurgist, welfare/personnel officer; and any other supervisory post as decided by the Chief Inspector. π§βπΌπ§
π₯ Shortfirers & blasters: Exempt from vocational training under normal provisions. β οΈ
π§Ύ Clerks, accountants & register keepers: Exempt but must undergo refresher training as specified in Rule 8. ποΈπ
π Students in approved courses: Training that forms part of study at a Central Governmentβapproved institution β exempt, yet subject to refresher training (Rule 8). π
π§ Apprentice mechanics/electricians: If they completed approved training at a mechanisation centre or institution approved by the Chief Inspector β exempt with refresher duty as per Rule 8. π οΈ
π‘οΈ Discretionary Exemption (Rule 3(2))
βοΈ The Chief Inspector may, by written order (stating reasons) and subject to conditions, exempt any person or class from training under these Rules. πβ
