Surface, Opencast & Belowground Training Requirements 👷♂️📘
MVTR Rule 6 ensures that no person is allowed to work in any mine unless they complete the required initial training — surface, opencast or belowground — as per the First, Second and Third Schedules. This includes both technical/gallery training and practical hands-on training.
⛰️ Surface / Opencast Training
• Must undergo technical + gallery training from the First Schedule.
• For notified work categories, a minimum of 6 working days of practical training on actual operations is compulsory.

⛏️ Belowground Training
• Must complete theoretical + gallery training from the Second Schedule.
• Requires at least 12 working days of practical training.
• Workers in gassy mines need additional training on the dangers of inflammable gas and safe-handling methods (Third Schedule).
