"A river cuts through rock, not because of its power, but because of its persistence." β Jim Watkins
Dear Friend,
I know you are tired. I know you have written the DGMS exam more than once and missed it by just a few marks. Sometimes you feel like giving up β βWhy try again? Maybe itβs not for me.β
But let me tell you something: you are not alone. Many before you have faced the same struggle. And many, after years of trying, finally cleared it.
When we drive a gallery, we drill, blast, muck, and support day after day. Still no ore body comes. We get frustrated. Workers feel tired. Owners lose patience.
But if we stop, maybe just a few meters ahead, the rich seam was waiting. Only those who keep driving finally reach it.
This exam is the same. Missing by 2β3 marks means you are very close to your ore body of success. Donβt stop digging now.
Many lose by a big margin. But if you fail by just a few marks, take it as a sign: you are almost there.
Would a miner abandon a gallery just because the first few cuts showed poor rock? No! He would continue with faith.
In underground mining, we donβt trust one timber or one steel prop. We keep supporting the gallery again and again until itβs safe.
Each exam attempt is the same. Itβs not wasted. Every try strengthens your knowledge and confidence.
Think of your father who is waiting proudly to see you succeed. Think of your children who will one day say: βMy father is a certified manager.β
Think of your juniors who look up to you. Think of the dignity this certificate will bring. Would you walk away just because of 2β3 marks? No, my friend. Not you.
This is not a competitive exam. It is a statutory exam. You only need to cross the line, and you are almost there.
"Like a miner who kept driving the gallery, I too kept going β and I found my ore body of success."
π₯ Donβt lose heart. Your journey is tough, but your destination is worth it.
With respect and faith in you,
A Fellow Traveller in Mining
